With surprising elevation changes and expansive bunkers, the Fazio Course is the most visually stimulating of the four courses at Barefoot Resort & Golf.
A three-time member of Golf Digest’s ranking of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses, the Fazio Course is one of the area’s strongest. Its no wonder why it was the host site of Golf Channel’s hit reality TV show; ‘BIG BREAK’ Myrtle Beach. With waste bunkers or more traditional bunkers lining nearly every fairway, the Tom Fazio design provides ample challenge from start to finish.
The par 4 fifth hole is unforgettable. Playing from an elevated tee box, a pond lurks on the right and a large waste bunker looms on the left. Combine a daunting drive with a long, uphill second shot and one of the Fazio Course’s prettiest holes is also one of its hardest.
The course has five sets of tees, ranging from 4,820 to 6,834 yards, and players that check their ego at that door and play from the proper set will enjoy a round at one of the best Myrtle Beach golf courses.
The Fazio Course installed Champion Bermuda grass greens in 2012 with spectacular results. Golfers now enjoy smooth, fast conditions throughout the year as the Champion Bermuda is ideally suited to the area’s subtropical climate.
The Fazio Course, the most requested of Barefoot’s four layouts, rewards good ball-striking and conditions are always among the best the on the beach.
