Spring Palmetto High School Golf Championship All-Freshman Team Named
Myles Lewis (Jesuit High School, LA), Peyton Vitter (Jesuit High School, LA), Al Dickens (Charlotte Country Day School, NC), Robert Register (Walter M Williams, NC) and Griffin Chandler (Walter M Williams, NC) were named to the 2008 Spring Palmetto High School Golf Championship All-Freshman Team.
“The five members of the All Freshman Team excelled should be extremely proud of their efforts” said Dave Macpherson, Palmetto tournament director. “To compete at such a high level is outstanding, to do it as an underclassman is makes it that much better.”
Members of the All Freshman Team typically have a strong history with the event. For example, past All Freshman Team member Mitch Gray from West Florence High School, helped his team win the Championship Flight of the 2008 event, as was named the event’s Most Outstanding Player. Hopefully members of this years teams will see similar results.
Hosted in Myrtle Beach, SC, the 54-hole Spring Palmetto Golf Championship was held at Aberdeen Country Club, Blackmoor Golf Club, Crown Park Golf Club, Founders Club, Indigo Creek Golf Club, Meadowlands Golf Club, River Hills Golf Club, Sea Trail Plantation, The Pearl Golf Club, Tradition Golf Club, True Blue Plantation and Wachesaw Plantation. Teams from 13 states were represented including Alabama, California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and two high school teams from Canada.
