Azalea Sands

Myrtle Beach built its reputation as the Golf Capital of the World on the strength of the value it offers golf lovers, and Azalea Sands was one of the area’s trailblazers.

One of the first North Strand golf courses, the Gene Hamm design opened in 1972, exposing golfers to the virtues of North Myrtle Beach via a layout that is long on playability and hospitality. Azalea Sands will celebrate its 40th birthday this year, and golfers can expect to find a course that’s as strong as ever.

Azalea Sands prides itself on providing a player-friendly experience and that includes a layout with no homes, condos or backyards. It’s golf from the first tee to the 19th hole, and a foursome can be reasonably expected to finish in less than four hours.

Located less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, Azalea Sands enjoys a central location. The course was remodeled in 2009, improving the layouts conditioning and playability. After 40 years, Azalea Sands stands as one of the best Myrtle Beach golf courses open to the public.
