They had to get out the fishing gear, stare man-eating reptiles in the eye, put on their dancing shoes, and as always, play a lot of great golf. Yes, the cast of Road Trip: Myrtle Beach had a surplus of fun during its swing through the North end of Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand, and now it’s time to relive the excitement.
Road Trip: Myrtle Beach - Golf Channel’s most popular travel show – returns to the air with four new episodes, beginning Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m. Follow former PGA TOUR player and ESPN personality Charlie Rymer, Hootie & The Blowfish guitarist Mark Bryan, singer-songwriter Josh Kelley and professional golfer Perry Swenson as they swing, sing and party their way around the North Strand.
The first episode takes the crew to Thistle, one of the Myrtle Beach area’s hidden gems, where Rymer and Bryan square off with Kelley and Swenson. The loser of the match has to take Shag lessons with 9-time world champions Jackie McGee and Charlie Womble. Some cast members are lighter on their feet than others, raising the stakes for those that don’t want to dance on national television.
After concluding on the course and the dance floor, the gang heads to one of the area’s finest restaurants, Parson’s Table, a Little River establishment housed in what used to be a Methodist Church.
The remaining new episodes from the first season will air on November 25, December 2 and December 9, all at 7:30 p.m. The Golf Channel will re-air episodes throughout November and December as well.
The new series of shows will also feature Kelly Thurman, the winner of the Road Trip: Myrtle Beach Guest Star Giveaway contest. Thurman, who has played the banjo for 20 year, holds his own on the course and the stage.
Road Trip: Myrtle Beach will showcase several of the North Strand’s most prominent courses, including Glen Dornoch, River’s Edge and Leopard’s Chase. Off the course, trips to Little River Marina, Alligator Adventure and the show’s “Wrap Party,” which features a performance by Bryan’s band, Occasional Milkshake, provide ample entertainment.
The Central and South Strands garner much of the public attention, but the North Strand, which ranges from North Myrtle Beach to Shallotte, N.C., is the area’s fastest growing segment. The North Strand was at the heart of the Myrtle Beach golf boom in the 1990s, and the area’s multitude of options makes it ideal for the fast-moving cast of Road Trip: Myrtle Beach.

I wish Kelly would do a "Pete Townsend" on that banjo. Everytime I'm subjected to Rocky Top it reminds me of paddling the rivers around Knoxville and always having to remember that you paddle faster when you hear the banjo playing". And, to make mattters worse, when I hear the 'ole "redneck national anthemn" playing , I automatically reach for my orange hunting vest because I know that one of my UT fraternity brothers is either getting married or just passed away.
I know Kelly can play, but, can he tell a joke?

I watched your show and it was said that I could enter to win a chance to go on a road trip with your gang. Is this true,and if so what exactly do I need to do? Can't wait to hear from someone!!! By the way the show was terrific.

The show you watched was a rerun. The contest was held over the summer and Kelly Thurman of Alpharetta, Ga., won the contest. The episode featuring Kelly will run in the upcoming series of new shows, which begin airing November 18.
