Stroke of Luck
Jason Schatz -- Dover, DE (8/7/2006)
I don't think that I can forget what happened to me on August 4th, 2006. I was playing my last round at Grande Dunes Golf Club. For anyone who has played that course knows that it is a pretty tough but beautiful course! I just came off of #5 with a horrendous double bogey. My dad says to me "It's only a 297 yard hole you could drive the green." I pulled my diver. I started the ball a little left of the flagstick, with a little fade. I stared the shot down for almost 5 minutes. I said "Did it go in the hole?" We drove up to the green. I was in the bathroom when my dad and my friend Tony were on the green, they both knew it was in the hole but they didn't want to tell me. Tony says "Can you pull the stick so I can putt?" I walk up to pull the pin and the ball is SITTING IN THE HOLE!! Probably a stroke of luck but it was the best shot that I have ever hit, not to mention I ended up shooting my lowest round ever on a Myrtle Beach golf course with an 81.
